We’re enhancing our operations for a cleaner and more efficient future

Entergy is committed to achieving net-zero greenhouse gas emissions by 2050. To get there, we are raising the bar with clear climate commitments and responsible investments.

Our path to achieve net-zero emissions by 2050 assumes continued technology advancements. In our journey to net-zero, we have several interim goals to measure our progress.

Our milestones

In our 2022 Climate Report, we announced a new carbon-free energy capacity goal and broadened the boundary of our emission-rate-based interim goal to include purchased power.

We are working to reach these interim goals on our path to net-zero emissions:

  • Carbon-free energy capacity of 50% by 2030. This includes all nuclear and renewable capacity, both owned and purchased. Additional capacity to include some accompanying battery storage paired with renewable energy.
  • Carbon dioxide emission-rate reduction of 50% by 2030. This includes all power generation, owned and purchased, from a base year of 2000.

Our progress

By the end of 2023, we have achieved:
